Crochet treasure bag / satchel / pouch
Start with a magic ring with six single crochet and grow it for a few rounds. I went for Amigurumi style but you can go more traditional of course. I explicitly made sure to get this hexagon effect you normally avoid.
When you think the base is big enough, stop adding stitches. Keep crocheting until the treasure sits inside the bag or you get very lucky with the colour change like I did. For the last two rows do add something like horizontal button holes by chaining three and which you then work around in the next row. The finish is a chain that you double up and hide the loose end in the body of the satchel. That doubled chain can then be pulled through the holes you left earlier giving you a very nice and very strong way to keep the pouch closed.
